We are pleased to introduce to you the comprehensive history of AGBU and AYA in Lebanon through the first of the five consecutive History Timeline Projects in a digital multimedia timeframe. This edition is the first in a five-part program that embraces the following sections: A briefing of the picture before the foundation of AGBU, and AGBU founders. It also broadly covers the union's main divisions during its first two decades (1905-1939), educational and other projects, Turkish massacres, deportations, migration, orphanages and humanitarian work in Lebanon. Soviet Armenia and the first immigrating caravans. In addition to this, it tackles the branches of AGBU and AYA in Lebanon, AYA's sports and cultural youth activities in the first decade, the executive staff, etc. Each of the five sections of AGBU-AYA's "Digital Chronological History in Lebanon" will cover a specific 20-year span multimedia activity.
The main goal of this comprehensive program in Lebanon is to preserve, recognize and make the 100-year history of the AGBU and AYA, the tremendous achievements fulfilled by the devoted Union leaders and members, accessible to new generations and to all those who wish to know, through modern and technologically accessible means.
The primary source of data in all of the following sections is the AGBU Publications, History Books, Newspapers, Magazines, and the AGBU-AYA office archives in Lebanon, which unfortunately are not complete.
In this regard, we reach out to all our former and current AGBU and AYA members, their relatives and friends, if they have any archival material related to the AGBU and AYA's activities and programs in Lebanon (photo, document, video, audio, newsletter, list, memoir). We will be grateful if they transfer them to the AYA Office: archive@agbu-aya-lbhistory.org noting that all the submitted archives will be returned to their owners after being copied and digitized.
Likewise, this is the first in a series of AGBU Chronicles of "Chronized Digital History" in Lebanon, which will act as a basis for the remaining series: (1940-1959), (1960-1979), (1980-1999), and (2000-2020). We are anticipating your kind remarks. Many thanks,
